The Stairs and Landing | Before

As you can see when we moved in the stairs and landing were very grim! With lots of damp, peeling green paint and a dodgy looking balustrade. The damp wall is the end wall of the house and as you can see in the photos it’s in patches on the wall rather than rising. We have looked into what might be causing it turns out the brick wall is only single skin, so gets very cold, therefore we are hoping it is just condensation, that can be solved through insulating the wall – watch this space!

Also of note is the fact the curtains were hung the wrong way round, with the pattern facing outwards – perhaps they had given up trying to make the inside look nice!
