The Start of a Front Door

7.30am last Monday morning saw the brickies in our back garden, ready to start building the entrance hall, that will finally give us a front door. We debated long and hard about what bricks to use and although we had originally planned to use reclaimed bricks, none of the suppliers we contacted could guarantee the supply chain of the quantity we required for both the side and rear extension. So instead we have opted for new yellow stock bricks.

After a couple of days

There is quite a contrast between the bricks at the moment, however we are planning on cleaning all the bricks on the house, so hopefully they will match in much better once we have cleaned them.

Only a couple more rows on the top and the coping stones left and the brick work will be finished

The arch still needs to be rendered and a keystone added to match the adjacent properties, but the external works are almost there.
