The sanitaryware has now all been fitted in the main bathroom and it is looking very finished. It needs some dressing but it is so nice to have something to show off and to get an idea of how the house is going to feel when it is all finished.
Due to the wall mounted taps we had to go for a sink with no tap holes, however even with a limited choice it still took us ages to decide. To save having to go through it twice we opted to go for the same sink and toilet in here as the master ensuite bathroom. The sink is the 700mm Euro Duo basin from Bathstore with Duo towel rail – I love the idea of being able to splash my face with water without getting it all over the floor, then grab the towel from just under the sink – we will see how that goes… The toilet is the Mode Arte back to wall toilet with soft close seat from Victoria Plum. I had some concerns over using different suppliers as I though the ceramic colours might be slightly different, but they match perfectly – which is a relief!
For anyone that is wondering this room doesn’t have a window, but we have installed a roof window over the bath so not only do we have natural light but you can also look up at the sky when you lie back.
Although you can’t see it in the pictures we have also gone for the Buckingham towel rail from Victoria Plum which has a bit of a traditional feel – a little nod to the history of the house in our contemporary bathroom.
I can’t wait for my first bath in the new house – the old one was so awful I could only bring myself to shower in it.
